Drainage still unsolved from last winter.

Reported via desktop in the The drain is blocked category anonymously at 13:21, Thursday 5 September 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Gloucestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6439685.

My client and i am getting very upset that are hard work is being destroyed by the fact the lack of drainage to the left of the track that comes out by the bridge means the road water floods down the track.Washing are newly planted hedge away. Please could the drainage be sorted as part of the major bridge repairs come october 2024. Please could the contractors be made aware there is a shallow berried gigaclear cable burried right next to the silted drain. I`ll mark it with orange paint for your workers so they don`t hit it in october. Basically the solutin would be to link the left hand blocked verge grill to the grill by the entrance to the pub. There also needs to be a new grill and trap installed on the corner of the pub heading up dane lane. This would help reduce the pub car park from being completely destroyed by silt when it rains heavy. I realise some major works are happening in october., But is these other issues could be solved too that would be grate. Thanks very much if your contractors need to meet and discuss where the vunerable gigaclear cable is r anything else about the issues raised please call me on 07852550690

Updates

  • Thank you for reporting a drainage or flooding issue.

We will investigate the issue. If additional clearance work is needed, the local highways team will prioritise the most urgent reports. Where possible, maintenance tasks will be grouped together in a schedule for efficiency.

Sometimes during periods of heavy rain, even a clear gully can be overwhelmed. Usually the water will drain away within an hour.

Every gully or drain the county council is responsible for is cleared at least once each year. Some drains in problem areas are cleared more frequently. You can find out more, including the gully emptying schedule on our website by visiting www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/highways/roads/road-maintenance

If your property is at risk of flooding please see the Flood Guide for advice and support by visiting www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/planning-and-environment/flood-risk-management/flooding-information/flood-guide

If you are driving: please never ignore road closures or enter flood water. This could put you or others in danger and invalidate your insurance.

We will provide updates about this report. Thank you again for taking the time to report this issue.
