Overflowing bins blocking the pavement

Reported via iOS in the Rubbish (refuse and recycling) category anonymously at 13:13, Wed 4 September 2024

Sent to Leicester City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6435438.

This has been a persistent problem reported before with no action taken. Overflowing bins blocking pedestrian access near the bus stop, women with pushchairs and disabled people get trapped between the bins and the bollards. Why are the properties using the bins tolerated by the warden? Have they got a special status? Can the council officers use the bylaws to address it urgently, please? The precise location is between 61 and 63 Evington Road.

Updates

  • I reported this problem three times already and it seems that LCC has set its mind on denying there is a problem. Yesterday was a rubbish and recycling collection day for this street and I took the photos this morning. Is this the case that some council official lives there and is above the law, or should I ask what is the level of bribe I need to prepare to have these bins shifted? Looking forward to LCC’s replies to these two questions.
