Road signage needed

Reported via mobile in the Road traffic signs category anonymously at 13:26, Mon 2 September 2024

Sent to Leicester City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6426482.

There are two lanes from the large junction until the bus lane starts, where the two lanes merge. I assume this is to ensure that the traffic does not get backed up in one lane at the junction. However many drivers decide they all have to queue in the right hand lane, often backing up into the junction, and behave aggressively to drivers correctly trying to use the left hand lane and zipper merge. It could use some signs saying “use both lanes” and then one saying “merge in turn” where the bus lane starts, for everyone who doesn’t understand how zipper merging works.
