Hazardous overhanging branches.
Reported via mobile in the Tree Requires Pruning category anonymously at 14:12, Saturday 31 August 2024
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6420219.
One dead tree and one dying tree on Highgrove Close with overhanging branches ready to fall on children’s heads whilst they play underneath. No one in the close knows who owns the land. Please help as with every windy day more branches are falling off and it is only a matter of time before someone is injured.

Please could you tell us who owns the land. It isn’t very helpful to just close the report whilst the hazard still remains.

Thank you for contacting us again We have carried out a land registry for the land owners responsible for the tree. There has been lots of owners with land divisions . The site will be visited again for a pin point location As you can imagine Bromley Borough has lots of trees that have been neglected by there owners, time and recourses are limited.
Thank you

The site is directly opposite 9 Highgrove Close, if that helps pinpoint the landowner. Is there further update? Thank you.

We have carried out a land registry search and found out who owns the land. It is there responsibility in the first instance to have the tree inspected and made safe. Thank you.

This issue is not resolved. How is this enforced? We have no idea who it is and they are clearly not meeting their obligations to keep the trees safe. What is the next step if they don’t maintain them?

The land registry search has come back. The land owners on our records are at No 10 Highgrove close. Its a private tree. You might like to bring this to there attention. Thank you.

No current 10 owners are aware of the issue. They do not own the land. Previous owners of no 10 still own the land so something is out of date with your records. I have no way of getting hold of the owners.

Can you confirm what to do next if current owners of no 10 deny that they are the owners of the land? Thank you.

Are you able to serve notice to the actual owners to compel them to prune or remove the trees? As stated, they are posing a danger. Thank you.
