Lack of white lines depicting T junction
Reported via desktop in the Road traffic signs category anonymously at 08:48, Thu 29 August 2024
Sent to Norfolk County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6410794.
The white lines have disappeared from the road, meaning that the busy HGV T junction is dangerous, as vehicles cannot judge the edge of the B1111.
In addition, the hedges to the north of the junction are overgrown and preventing adequate safe line of sight for any vehicles turning right at the T junction. This is a busy HGV industrial estate and the junction would benefit from the T junction having a marked/hatched centre island, so that vehicles are placed slightly to the left, allowing for the HGVS to swing into Roudham Road when turning right from the B1111.

Have been contacted by council to say that it is on their list to be done but no date.

This is now 2 months on from the automated response from Norfolk County Council advising that the work has been prioritised for repair. No sign of any work locally on white line painting, even more important now that the dark evenings are here. I've suffered too many close calls this week alone with HGVs and cars cutting the corner when entering from the B1111. It needs sorting.

Despite reporting this back in August, there has been no activity or commitment from the Council to reinstate the essential white lines on the junction. There are daily near misses with vehicles leaving the Roudham Road onto B1111 as they cannot even see there is a junction there.
Urgent attention required.
