Reported anonymously at 08:03, Tue 17 July 2007 ; (there is no pin shown as the user did not use the map)

Sent to East Hertfordshire District Council and Hertfordshire County Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 6399.

Ragwort is infesting road sides around Hooks Cross, also the A602 between Watton and Stevenage.
this weed is very poisonous (Weeds Act 1959, Ragwort Control Act Feb 2004)to people and animals and should be cleared and burned. It remains dangerous even when dead.

  • the immediate verges to
    the roads have been cut,but
this has only cut the grass
    and left the ragwort.
    It is the tall yellow
weed and is now about to
    reseed itself.
    the seeds also blow around
in the wind and so infest
    all the local grazing and
    crop land.
    Probably machinery cannot
    get close enough to the
fence to get rid of it.
