Service Area rear of 713 - 731 Whitworth Road, Rochdale
Reported in the Potholes category anonymously at 21:33, Mon 25 May 2015
Sent to Rochdale Borough Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 638891.
Have been trying for the last four years to get the Council to re-surface. In extremely bad state and an accident hazzard. Probably will act after someone, or some child, falls and breaks a limb. Did receive promises that 'it would be put on the two year plan' but that time has passed long ago.

This has been an ongoing request for four years. Was promised that it would be added to a 'two year' programme. First told the area had not been adopted. HAD. Then told there was no money available. And the recent answer from the Council in response to 'Fix My Street' is as follows:
"that this section of highway has been added for consideration in a future programme of resurfacing work, I can confirm this proposal is still under consideration and has not been approved. Please note though that the timing of any improvement works will be subject to a priority assessment; the availability of budgets and approval by elected members; this is an annual process. In other respects we already have a committed programme of works for 2015/16 and unfortunately it is not possible to be any more specific at this time.
There are currently no areas of this carriageway which meet criteria for an emergency repair but it will continue to be monitored under the annual inspection programme."
The area is in a diabolical state but doesn't look like we will get any joy.Posted anonymously at 23:30, Mon 22 June 2015

Spray marks several weeks ago around small insignificant pot holes supposedly for action but not selecting the area which most needs resurfacing. So all in all nothing.

Just had a telephone call today from my local Councillor saying that work will be carried out by Spring. So hopefully by April some improvements will be made.

Result!! After four years of badgering, the service area is being resurfaced this very moment. Hopefully they will be doing a good job so on that basis I will give a tick for the problem being fixed.
