Outdated and unsafe playground equipment.
Reported in the Parks/landscapes category anonymously at 21:21, Sun 24 May 2015
Sent to Adur District Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 638546.
The play area on the eastern side of Upper Kingston Lane, and adjacent to The Quayside Community Centre, needs to be updated, refreshed, and made safe. The equipment is old, rusty, and mounted on to unsafe surfaces. There is no enclosing fence, so dogs, who may be supervised, or not, are able to wonder into this area, and deficate. The selection of play equipment is woeful. There area a large number of families with young children and adolescents, living nearby, and two schools, again nearby in Hawkins Crescent. Children could visit the playground on the way home after school.

There has been no acknowledgement of the report, no action from the local authority, no action to remedy the deficiencies that blight the play area; all of which indicates a complete lack of interest from the local authority to address the safety issues in the play area.

Please see my last update, as there has been no action. True, the grass has been cut, but the original concern remains.

No change to the playground; facilities or safe use by children. No feedback from the local authority. It is understood that the local authority cannot be held to a commitment that they cannot honour due to budgetary pressures, but some form of acknowledgement would be good.
