Build up of traffic at temporary lights. At 07.45 19/08/24. I waited in line for 24mins to travel north to Poynton. We saw many a green light but could not pass owing to the stream of oncoming traffic.. The cars ahead of me decided to go on green I followed and mounted the pavement to pass the oncoming flow of slow moving traffic. When I looked back through my mirror at their traffic lights they were on red. Does this mean the lights were faulty or was it that the oncoming traffic kept coming despite the showing of a red light. If the latter then I surgest that these drivers be prosecuted.

Thank you for your enquiry. We have made the location safe until we can return to carry out further works. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide you with a timescale of the further works. Where urgent repairs are needed to keep highway users safe, we take action quickly. Where highway users are not at risk, we assess the best long-term approach for the location.
