Chunks of wood falling from tree.

Reported via mobile in the Trees category anonymously at 07:28, Sun 18 August 2024

Sent to Waltham Forest Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6369125.

There are a couple of big chunks of wood that have fallen from the tree outside 88 Bushwood. They seem to be falling from an array where a large bough exits the trunk. It would be good to get someone out to inspect it, as I don't want the bough falling onto someone or something. I can't get a good angle to take a photo of the damage. The wood pieces are about 20cm across

Updates

  • Some bits that have fallen down

  • No more significant chunks have fallen, as the leaves drop I can start to see where they're falling from. They're at the base of a bough so might need to call out a tree surgeon to check it

  • I've been away for a month, and have come back to reports that a couple more branches have fallen off the tree.

There is the danger of a large branch of the tree falling off and hitting both mine, and my neighbours drive. It would be good to get someone out to evaluate the tree.
