Long traffic queues along Wargrave Road

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 18:12, Sat 9 May 2015

Sent to Wokingham Borough Council 3 minutes later

Every week day it takes 30 minutes from the start of the queue in Wargrave Road to get onto the main road into Henley. There has always been a fair amount of traffic due to the merging from Remenham Hill, but recently it has become far worse. I travel from Woodley and can get home from Henley in 12 minutes. It is taking 50 minutes to get in. I join the queue at 8.05 approximately and arrive at the Remenham Hill junction at 8.35am. Can the timing of the traffic lights on Henley bridge be changed?

  • The traffic along this road is terrible. 30+ minutes to get from Conways Bridge to Henley Bridge. I see there is traffic surveying going on but if anything the problem is getting worse.

The traffic lights at the bridge desperately need modifying. There is practically no queue at all for traffic travelling along Thameside, but hundreds of cars queueing along Wargrave Road and down White Hill.

I wonder if this issue is exacerbated by the fact that the queues are on the Wokingham BC side but the traffic lights are on the Oxfordshire BC side.
