Deep pothole on northbound side of Okehurst Road at its junction a few hundred metres south of The Blue Ship pub. with the road that goes via Morgans Green

I've no idea how long the pothole has been there as this was the first time since September 2022 that I had ridden this road.

The pothole is wide, but its danger stems from its depth – at least 4cm – and the steepness of its exit. Also contributing to the danger is that the pothole is much less obvious than most such hazards because it has accumulated a layer of dirt in its bottom.

  • On 31/07/24 West Sussex Council sent me an email saying that the site had been inspected and a job raised for repair, which should be carried out within 28 days. As of 01/09/24 it hadn't been, and there were no markings around the pothole.
