Junction is dangerous

Reported via desktop anonymously at 16:51, Friday 26 July 2024

Not reported to council

The junction from King Edward road on to Broad street is ridiculous. Cars parked opposite obstruct entry in and out of King Edward road. Hedge needs cutting or removing at the house on the right as you come out of King Edward road as you cannot see without inching out too far what is coming up from the right, cars parked to close to junction at these properties add to the problem.

Typical scenario, when exiting Kind Edward road cars coming from the left are on your side of the road due to cars parked opposite the junction, then while you are keeping an eye on that scenario you are inching out to see past hedge and parked cars for traffic approaching from the right, with virtually zero visibilty. Also if you are coming up the broad street with King Edward road on your left cars pull out on you because as detailed above in their defence they can't see you coming.

Speed bumps and 20mph speed limit at the bottom of Broad street where visibility is good but at the top where the road bends and idiots treat like a race track it's still a 30mph, makes no sense.

The obstructions at this junction are caused by people trying to park at their homes which is only fair so the easier win is to slow the traffic down.

Speed bumps and 20mph speed limit on the whole of broad street is long over due.
