Alarm going off for 2 months

Reported via mobile anonymously at 13:28, Tue 23 July 2024

Sent to Leicester City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6265259.

Intermittent alarm going off somewhere in this area day and night. When it starts it's every 10 seconds or so. Hard to locate but think it may be related to DAY centre or property in that area. Emits a high pitched frequency before and after each time which is affecting hearing aid. Sounds like a rape alarm or one of those window alarms handed out by police. Stopped for a couple of weeks but it's been back for over a week again constantly.

Updates

  • Finally stopped for about 4 days (bliss) but is now back yet again driving everyone crazy! Going off every 15 seconds day and night. Must be awful for whoever lives closest to it.

  • The problem continues. Again, it stopped for a few days but has been going off all night for the last 2 nights and is still going off as I type. Makes me more sure that it's the DAY Centre as it stopped while there were people there last week but now it's back again. Sleep constantly disrupted and it's like torture when trying to WFH in the week. Please DO SOMETHING Leicester Council!

    Still open, via questionnaire

  • Seems to have stopped. For now. Not counting or chickens yet as there's been breaks like this before.

  • 11/10/24 After a couple of weeks of quiet, it's back again. Going off all day today. It's approaching midnight and still going off every 15 seconds with the same high pitched tone.
