Wire on the island tangled on baby cot

Reported via mobile in the Park Repairs category anonymously at 18:27, Sat 20 July 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6254173.

A young Moorhen was tangled up in the black wire that is hanging off the damaged island on the pond at Bromley Park (Church House Park). I waded across the water (which is very muddy) from the side and cut the Moorhen from the wire. Then I carried it back to the side to remove the plastic wiring from it's leg. I released the young moorhen back into the pond to be collected by it's mother. It hide in the ivy which is reaching into the pond from the side. I reported this to the Bromley Emergency Team but they could not help. The reference number is 795288. Please may a team remove the plastic wiring on the island (see photo) and repair the pond to make it safe for wildlife. It looks like the pond needs some love. If you want a volunteer, I am very happy to help. Please do contact me.

Please may you update me. I would like to know if the pond is safe for wildlife especially as Moorhen's are nesting on the pond. It does need to be safe for them too.
