Algae, rubbish and duck weed in the Dock Basin

Reported via mobile in the Parks/landscapes category by Jamie Kelwick at 13:37, Fri 19 July 2024

Sent to Hull City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6250158.

The Victoria Dock Basin is becoming an eyesore. The return of algae and duck weed every year is bad enough but the amount of floating rubbish in there is dreadful. The community does have volunteers who clear the village of rubbish, as well as the council workers but they don’t have access to the basin or the correct equipment needed. Could we request a cleaning crew to come and, at least, clear the rubbish.

Updates

  • The problem is getting worse. There supposed to be a new fountain on order but it needs installing now.
