Sub optimal traffic lights and sub optimal road markings

Reported via desktop anonymously at 14:30, Thu 18 July 2024

Sent to Richmond upon Thames Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6246270.

I have seen yet another near miss today 18/7/24 . Please can either LBRUT or TFL take some responsibility for improving road safety at this location.

This is the 3rd time I have raised this, most recently last week. It has been looked in to but the case closed and there are just photos of faded road markings, we I mentioned on my report. This is NOT the only issue in this location. There are near traffic misses with traffic here all the time. I walk through this junction twice a day and also drive through too. I do not stand next to this junction all day long but fyi I see something almost happen or nearly happen more than a few times a week and you often see debris on the road. Here is the notes from the case opened and closed this week.

Sub optimal traffic lights - dangerous Reported via mobile in the Safety concern (traffic or pedestrian) category by Pippa hartwell at 08:27, Tuesday

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6225150.

Here is the outcome report that I made 23 June 2023 “State changed to: No further action TfL

Since then I have seen at least ten misses, more debris on the road indicating yet another smash here. The light sequence is not right. People accidentally jump the lights from queens road to Stanley. There are two sets of lights and people are not stopping at the second set heading to Stanley road. Please make sure the mid junction stop line is clearly marked and in good condition- it is not currently . Please lower the line of sight of the mid junction traffic lights as the ones 3 metres before are green and the traffic leaving those are not realised they need to stop again so soon. This is really dangerous please do Something more! Change the release sequence might help. I am happy to Speak to someone visiting the site ? I have my heart in my mouth often as people only just stop and this is on top of all the near misses ! Thank you 07973529556
