Outside Ansa waste site and near the lamp post

Reported via mobile in the Gully/Drainage category anonymously at 09:48, Thu 18 July 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6244493.

This gully has been blocked for years and years. Since before the path was built and before the waste site was opened. I live here and I’ve been reporting this for 14years now. I’ve had United utilities inspect it and they tell me it’s your problem to solve. As per their inspection report attached. It’s fills up and creates a sludge all over the path and road. Car dodge it. My children can’t walk to school without having the clothes and shoes covered in it. My son also fell in it a few months back which I sent pictures. He also hurt his back and still has problems with it. The path needs digging up and the leak is under the path. I reported this before the path was built over the leak. I don’t know how many times I need to report this before something is done about it. If I can’t walk down my lane but still expected to pay council tax I think it’s an absolute joke. 14 years complaining about the same problem is an outrage.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are experiencing a high volume of enquiries and we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.

  • The investigation we have done so far has identified that we need to carry out more work to either better understand or resolve this problem. We have added this location to our drainage improvement programme list. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide you with a timescale of works as they will be prioritised based on risk and available budget. Changes might need to be made if we need to prioritise other works due to emergencies or weather events.

In the meantime, if there is any immediate threat to the property or highways safety requiring an emergency response then we ask that this is telephoned through to the team on 0300 123 5020 between 8:30am – 5:00pm or outside of these hours, contact our out of hours team on 0300 123 5025.

    State changed to: In progress
