Hi,
I raised a request earlier for excessive weeds which was attended to - thanks for that. The tree on public ground behind our property 30 Daleside has grown too big that its branches are entering into our garden and hence will need pruning. Also it is so long that our neighbours on the back side on goldfinch close are not able to get the sunlight as the tree stands in the way. Can you please help to get that pruned. The contractor who came to fix the weeds problem said that a new complaint needs to be raised as the team which takes care of trees is different to them. Looking forward to hear from you.
Regards Paramdeep 30 Daleside

Thank you for your enquiry. Please note as outlined in our Tree Management Strategy (tree-management-strategy-2023-to-2027 (bromley.gov.uk)
The Council will not remove or prune trees where requests are based on the following issues:
• Branches overhanging properties. Residents have the right to exercise their right under common law to prune back branches to their property boundary, with all arising disposed of by the resident. Pruning should be carried out following discussion with one of the Council’s Tree Officers and completed to the standard set out in BS3998:2010 Tree Work
Tree size, where a tree is judged to be overly large. Lack of light: there is no ‘Right to light’ (or shade) in British law. However it is noted that the lower branches are touching the boundary fence, a job has been raised to high lift the tree off boundary fence which is in hand to be completed by the contractor.

Please accept our apologies for the delays, the works have been taken off our incumbent contractor and issued to a third party contractor for completion. We envisage that the contractor will take 6-8 weeks to complete them.
