Damage to tarmac on road

Reported via mobile in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 22:08, Mon 15 July 2024

Sent to Luton Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6233644.

Road damage occurred on 10th July outside number 69 Richmond Hill when a large road repair vehicle was parked on main road outside houses. The hot metal plates on the heavy plant machinery burnt large, deep holes in the road. This is exceptionally dangerous for vehicles and bikes driving up the road heading towards Stockingstone Road, with risk of damage to tyres and also risk of injuries for cyclists etc. Loose tarmac debris was strewn across road and cleared up by residents. With heavy rainfall, the deep cavities in the road surface fill with water and cannot be seen by road users.
