Sunken drain by kerb

The drain has sunk since the road had new tarmac put down not so long ago. This is causing drivers damage to their vehicles as we are forced to park on the pavement. An elderly gentleman damaged two of his wheels on the hottest day of the year and waited all day to be rescued. I know of two other vehicles who also damaged their vehicles.
