Illegally parked cars

Reported via mobile in the Car parking category anonymously at 17:59, Sat 13 July 2024

Sent to Enfield Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6226010.

For the last 2 years both the primitive butcher and two brothers motorcycles have, with absolutely no consequences, been using and continue to use the double yellow lines outside their respective places of business as their own private parking spaces. Despite NSL parking (who Enfield council have outsourced responsibility for enforcement to) being fully aware of the problem, both companies continue to break the law with impunity. They have the moped riders as lookouts and as soon as they see enforcement officers they move their vehicles only to move them back when they leave. They know the hours that NSL work and block the road without the need for lookouts as soon as it hits 17:00 as they know they will not face the consequences of their actions. At the weekend it’s even worse as they know no one will come to enforce restrictions. By continually parking on the double yellow lines the two companies’ anti-social behaviour and illegal activities place everyone in danger as they have effectively created a single car lane at the entrance to Acacia Road making it impossible for a fire engine to turn into the road and causing traffic chaos and congestion on Lancaster Road. If Enfield council cannot or will not act then they must issue anti-social behaviour orders on both companies.
