View obstructed on roundabout
Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 10:09, Mon 8 July 2024
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6202669.
Overgrowth on roundabout is obstructing view of traffic approaching from the right. The roundabout is quite high and the grass is now very tall and dense. In a low vehicle it is impossible to see traffic approaching from B4477 or already on the roundabout as you exit Brize Norton Village onto the roundabout. Because it's not a very large roundabout you cannot see traffic until it is actually coming into view right next to you.

Thank you for your enquiry. Oxfordshire County Council, as the Highway Authority, is ultimately responsible for the maintenance of grass verges alongside the carriageway network throughout Oxfordshire (excluding motorways and trunk roads). Under our new approach, all roadside verges in both rural and urban areas are cut once a year. If necessary, we will trim areas that impede driver visibility more regularly. For more details, you can refer to our Highway Verge and Vegetation Management policy at https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/ sites/ default/ files/ file/ roads-and-transport-major-projects/ grasscuttingpolicy.pdf
