Thanks for your enquiry - the drain has a stuck cover which the drainage contractors could not free - once the cover has been released the gully will be cleaned - this type of work is done in bulk orders and will take longer than usual to complete.

We are still waiting for the cover to be released , when that happens , the contractors will clean the asset.

We are sorry that this is taking an age to resolve, the contractors have every intention of cleaning the drain and others in Chislehurst - they will need to implement a traffic management scheme along with, possibly an anti collision vehicle . To make it cost effective, this type of work is done in bulk and will be done as soon as it can be arranged.

But why wasn’t this planned for by the Council and the contractor?
Surely experienced, professional contractors would have the necessary equipment to deal with such ‘stuck’ drains?
How many drains in Chislehurst Ward still remain ‘stuck’?
What retention against the contract has been made?
