Grass on crossing islands needs cutting
Reported via desktop in the Grass needs cutting category anonymously at 20:18, Sunday 7 July 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6201216.
The grass on the three new crossing islands on Court Road near Goddington Lane is extremely high and needs cutting. I raised this issue last year (see FMS 4879330) and was advised that these areas have been added to your contractor's maintenance agreement. If this is the case, they need to be reminded to cut these areas on a regular basis.

Photo added showing the issue. The verges have been cut, but not the grass on the islands.

Why has nothing been done about this issue? It would really be far better to tarmac these islands to avoid this problem and the extra expense of grass cutting.

While your traffic team 'continue to investigate' this issue, how about sending a grass cutting team to actually cut the grass and clear this eyesore?

It is over 7 weeks since my initial report and still nothing has been done. If there is no resolution or satisfactory explanation by 31 August I will be making an official complaint.

There are plans to replace the grass on the island with low maintenance foliage. The replacement is being scheduled with our contractor and we hope that the works are completed soon.
