Large, deep pothole close to centreline - motorcycle killer!

Reported via iOS in the Pothole category anonymously at 14:14, Fri 5 July 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6195302.

A large, deep pothole has developed on the approach to the Graven Hill roundabout, close to the centre line. Any cyclist or motorcyclist hitting this will be lucky to escape injury or, if they are thrown into oncoming traffic, death. Action needs to be taken today, not in a month or more when this report has found its way to the top of OCC’s pile.

  • No, I cannot provide a photograph without stepping into a live traffic lane on a busy route, putting myself into danger.

The pothole in question is easy to identify -it’s the deep one that were a motorcycle to hit it would have a high likelihood of unseating the rider and throwing them into oncoming traffic.

  • Hahaha - the good old fashioned OCntyCouncil "provide photo proof" malarkey - and when you don't they'll sign off the very obvious dangerous defect as investigated and considered for repair......a load of curious mature student thieving specimens that leave roads in a condition that would shame a 3rd world shanty bazaar hamlet...
