Vegetation overgrown - dangerous as you cannot see vehicles coming in the opposite direction over the single lane bridge

Reported via desktop in the Hedges category anonymously at 15:24, Monday 1 July 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6177537.

The vegetation here just before you cross the bridge has grown so high that you cannot see cars coming in the opposite direction when trying to cross the single lane bridge. It is very dangerous.

It has been like this for over two weeks.

  • State changed to: Investigating

Updated by Oxfordshire County Council at 15:25, Monday 1 July 2024

  • Thank you for your report. Landowners and occupiers are legally obligated to properly maintain vegetation on their property that is next to the public highway. If the vegetation affects the safety of highway users, it becomes their responsibility. However, in this instance, since the highway was not obstructed, there may not be sufficient cause to take further action at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation during statutory inspections.

    State changed to: Investigation complete
