Sent to Merton Borough Council less than a minute later
In order to improve the effectiveness of the controlled drinking zone (CDZ), can I please make a suggestion that the two benches outside Colliers Wood Underground station and Donald Hope Library are removed, because they tend to attract alcoholics to sit and drink, despite the area being a controlled drinking zone. In addition to this there's often an accumulation of litter around these benches, particularly chicken bones from neighbouring fast food outlets, and occasionally vomit (probably from the aforementioned alcohol if not the chicken shop). The removal of these two benches could potentially improve the area by alleviating the above antisocial problems.
Anti-social behaviour as well as non-repairs are outside the scope of FMS.
I suspect any move to have the benches removed for these reasons would have to come from the police, so I'd suggest contacting your police safer neighbourhoods team.
This update is not from the council.

I understand your point, but the police aren't going to remove the benches themselves, it'll go through the council anyway, so I have reported it to the council directly. With the large investment the council are currently making into the town centre redevelopment in Colliers Wood, I hope this can play a small part in improving it. They might even have a plan that I'm unaware of to replace the benches or supply bins next to them etc. as part of their improvements. Ultimately it's up to them, so at this stage I'll await their response.
