Misleading road markings causing near misses and accidents
Reported via desktop in the Other Road Issues category anonymously at 10:15, Tuesday 25 June 2024
Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6151053.
On the approach to the roundabout both lanes have arrows indicating to go straight across (first image) and drivers not familiar with the area often stay in the right lane to go straight over (as the arrow shows) only to get on the roundabout and all of a sudden the arrow points right (second image) and so they cut across the other lane causing many near misses and accidents. I always thought this was wrong and this morning I saw a very near miss involving a cyclist so am reporting this as an opportunity for improvement before someone gets seriously hurt.
