Lifting Drain Cover

Reported via desktop in the Manhole category anonymously at 09:10, Thursday 20 June 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6131171.

Heading out of Church Hanborough, just past the smallholding, there is a drain cover that keeps lifting and sticking up at a dangerous angle. I caught it on Tuesday and knocked it flat but it was up at a greater angle this morning.

Council ref: ENQ241008488

  • I was going to report the drain cover but obviously it’s already been done. This is very urgent as the cast iron drain cover sticks up 15 to 20mm out of the ground plus that leaves a hole beside it. If a vehicle hits this it will cause an accident and damage the car beyond repair. I have already replaced the cover once so when it’s driven over it must bounce up out of the hole and wedge itself sticking up.
