Trip hazards on pavement and improper work by council

Reported via mobile in the Footways and Pavement damage category anonymously at 09:17, Wednesday 19 June 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6125801.

You are currently clearing the pavement on Old Burford Road between Worsham turn and Minster Lovell. This has been almost impassable for years with only cursory trims f surrounding growth in the past. The problem is in the surface of the pavement - its whole width is interspersed with weeds and growth bad enough to be a trip hazard. Your men have been doing a fabulous job but sadly significant regrowth of weeds in the cleared areas is rendering the expenditure useless. You need to put weed killer down! Weeds have regrown within the surface of the pavement, and not just at the edges in the space of 4 weeks! The council is literally throwing mo ey away Um afraid unless you do more than just clear the surface. It’s only been 4 weeks or so since work started and already there are actual trip hazards - I am not exaggerating- ask the men doing the work currently. I hasten to add they’re brilliant in what they’ve done but how demoralising must it be to see hard work wasted! Thankyou.

  • Photos from early October of the pavement between Minster Lovell and the Worsham turn on the B4047. You can barely even see the pavement in places once again.
