Ill-placed and incorrect signage.

Reported via desktop in the Traffic Signs category anonymously at 21:37, Friday 14 June 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6109995.

There is a new 20 mph sign on the bend before reaching the ford in Shilton. Approaching the village down the hill, one side of the sign states the new speed limit of 20 mph; on the other side (facing a narrow, bumpy and twisty uphill road toward the Burford-Carterton road--where the speed limit is 40 mph--there is a sign for the national speed limit, which is clearly wrong. It would be better if the correct 20/40 mph sign was positioned higher up the hill, close to the turnoff into Shilton--where the sign for the ford already exists.
