Zebra crossing needed for safe school route

Reported via mobile in the Road Markings category anonymously at 09:17, Fri 14 June 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6106769.

Unsafe for school children crossing the bottom of Kingston road to access Aristotle bridge. This is where children cross on their own to get to and from school at rush hour when cyclists come at full throttle from Highfield road. Often cars park on this crossing/ hump, making it dangerous as it is impossible to see the children before they pop out into the road. Renewed road markings would make this safer and prevent people from parking there every morning. It would also improve safety for children and teens accessing Aristotle Park.

Please do see to this urgently- it’s an accident waiting to happen. It is a wonderful idea for children to walk themselves to school- but only if the route is safe.

Thanks for addressing this. Best regards
