This report is of an area DESPERATELY in need of repair. Lesser problems elsewhere have been completed but this one is worsening by the day especially as private (Country Lion) busses run here and cause debris. PLEASE stop dragging your heals & RESURFACE these 15+ holes in a single stretch

This road is in such a bad condition due to a double decker school bus twice a day thinking this road is suitable to use (it takes up the both "lanes" of the road and drives fast, even with cars parked!) and lorries (again, using the whole width of the road) using it when the road is Really NOT suitable. Needs to be restricted as a through road for large vehicles and only for loading or unloading

Investigation: Completed (Highways to Monitor, Routine Inspection Programme), Defect Repair: Not Started - Thank you for your enquiry. Our standard of maintenance, good practice and providing value for taxpayer’s money, means that any safety defects identified on West Northamptonshire’s public highways, are categorised according to their severity and have differing response times.
Not all highway defects will be classed as safety defects since some will not be of sufficient severity to warrant action immediately. This does not mean that there are no other defects present on the road or footway and this may give the impression that we are ignoring problems and only carrying out works if we are pressurised to do so. Basically we have to prioritise our limited maintenance funding, with available resources and cannot fix all defects reported to us immediately.
Please be assured that public roads, footways and roadside gullies will continue to be monitored through our routine safety inspection programme or from members of the public who can report any defects to our ‘Street Doctor’ service which will allow us to log and keep a record of any reported defects on our highway network. We are sorry to hear about the accident. 4/8/24 update: NO work started yet to date. Country Lion double decker bus cuts thru at term time & surface crumbling fast! 15+ holes & this is NOT an official bus route or designed to be one. Neglected road not in keeping with the area & damaging to vehicles, see pic of the hole material building up on the uncleaned kerbside now!

Still no remedial action from West Northants. Holes getting worse and debris building up at the roadside. Still no reply or change regarding the Country Lion double decker school bus using this cut thru, being totally unsuitable to the road surface & road size in a tight housing estate?

Investigation: Completed (Defect Found), Defect Repair: Not Started - We have scheduled repairs for the 26 weeks period when first inspected. At this time, the defects have not deteriorated further and are in line with our priority levels. Please follow this link to view more on this: https://www.westnorthants.gov.uk/ roads-and-paths-maintenance/ report-potholes-or-highway-problem. West Northamptonshire Council do not have enforcement powers in regards to speeding or improper driving. This would be a police matter. If there is no weight limit here, buses may use this road legally but should ensure they are driving safely and within the speed limit. Thank you.

STILL unresolved, yet more debris breaking up & collecting at kerbside. Still suffering the Country Lion double decker school bus cutting through and accelerating the crumbling surface. Scheduled for ‘patching’ I believe? Won’t be right until properly repaired & the bus is re-routed.

WNC reply is incorrect. It HAS deteriorated further since the last update and is deteriorating by the day. The debris is still collecting up in the gutter and junction to Greeves close (the roads sweeping service isn’t what it once was either). I look forward to a proper & level repair, not a crumbly patch up .. this lovely area needs restoring to what we all bought into, thank you

That’s great news, will be good to be correct again like old times. Note: needs to be fit for the double decker Country Lion school bus which has played a big part of chewing up this surface- or re route the bus of course?

Workers left without taking their waste left from digging. Mound of asphalt debris in Greeves close and debris along kerbside spilling into drains. Spreads to Wrenbury Road. Have reported & WNC class this as acceptable!?
