An awkward end to a cycle lane

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 10:49, Fri 20 March 2015

Sent to Redbridge Borough Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 608427.

Travelling south on Woodford Road, just before the right turn onto Eagle road, the single lane divides into two to separate traffic going forward and turning right onto Snaresbrook Road.

The cycle lane stops a few meters previous to make space for the two separate lanes. This results in cars verging into where the cycle lane was which, for me at least, has resulted in a few occasions where I was pushed into the kerb.

My suggestion is to reduce the wide pavement by half a meter to allow the cycle lane to continue.

  • No word as yet. Admittedly my report was of a design problem rather than a damaged road. Just hoping for the best.
