Drinking Water Tap Not Yet Turned On For Summer

Reported via desktop in the Council Estate Services category anonymously at 11:23, Wednesday 5 June 2024

Sent to Brighton and Hove City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6065983.

Unfortunately we are again almost halfway through the year and again, like last year, this drinking water tap remains turned off. We've had two bank holiday weekends with no water from this tap.

Not only is this an inconvenience for folk walking their dogs on this dog-friendly part of the promenade, because they can't give their animals water, but last weekend we witnessed a group of elderly ladies attempt to get water from it for one of their number who had literally fainted and collapsed from dehydration.

With the weather much warmer now, the failure to turn this tap back on after the winter could be considered a serious danger to animal and human life if there is no access to rehydration. Please, please, please turn it on! Thank you.
