Cumberland Basin Swing bridge failure

Reported via desktop in the Bridges/Subways category anonymously at 16:57, Tue 4 June 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6062877.

I was on The Matthew on Sunday June 3rd 2024. The trip had to be abandoned as two attempts to open the Swing Bridge failed. The Matthew ,therefore ,lost money as they had to refund all the passengers or book them on to other trips. The passengers were inconvenienced and disappointed, as were the crew and volunteers. Additionally the traffic was held up twice for no reason. We were told an engineer had been called but as there are none on site and because of the tide the trip was cancelled.
