Repeated parking on double yellow, blocking emergency access and egress for businesses

Reported via mobile in the Car parking category anonymously at 12:52, Tuesday 4 June 2024

Sent to Glasgow City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6061268.

Cars routinely park on the Ingram St double yellows across the car park for both business access & emergency vehicle access to 100 Queen Street, Tesco, Army Recruiting, Travelodge and Credit Union. Especially egregious around lunch hours where customers of Sprigg will remain in illegally parked vehicles while getting lunch for upto half an hour. These illegal parkers are growing increasingly combative when confronted.

Updates

  • This issue is still happening, as one of our tenants' staff were trapped on 2/7/2024. A grey mercedes had parked across the access point to the building at 8pm. After waiting an extremely long time, they had to mount the pavement on Ingram St to leave the premises as the vehicle was still unattended.
