Request for Maintenance of Tactile Paving on Solent Road Pavement

Reported via iOS in the Rights of way category anonymously at 20:14, Mon 3 June 2024

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6057896.

I am writing to bring to your attention a concern regarding the tactile paving on the pavement along Solent Road, Havant, adjacent to the retail car park. I have attached a google photo for your reference.

It appears that the tactile paving was initially installed to indicate an entrance point from the retail car park. However, this entrance is no longer in use and is now completely inaccessible due to the presence of an established hedgerow. This outdated setup could cause confusion for visually impaired individuals who rely on tactile paving for navigation.

Given that the environment conditions have changed and there is a fully functional crossing point a few yards away, I kindly request that the council consider carrying out maintenance works to address this issue.

Removing or relocating the tactile paving to reflect the current layout would greatly improve the safety and accessibility of the pavement for visually impaired pedestrians.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.
