Numerous Dangerous Potholes

Watling Street Affetside is in Poor Condition from the Pack Horse to the Bolton Boundary.

There are numerous deep potholes capable of damaging cars and unseating cyclists.

This is a popular cycling route and in dark or poor weather the holes are pretty much invisible.

May I take the opportunity to remind you of the cyclist that died in your bury a few years ago, it may be worth remembering to coroners verdict when assessing this report. Should the worst happen every person who has handled or assessed this report may be required to attend a coroners court inquest.

The coroner sent Bury Council a Reg 28 notice in respect of that death.

I note many defects are larger than 40mm and unmarked.
