  • The below response received from HCC is totally unacceptable. This very large, damaging pothole on a main road has been there all year, with no attempt made to even temporarily repair it.

To suggest it could be there for another 2 months is diabolical & quite unacceptable, as it continues to cause a safety issue & damage vehicles.

This at the very least needs a temporary infill.

For such a safety defect to remain in this location for so long is quite honestly criminal.

    "Good morning,

I am writing in relation to your enquiry reporting a pothole on Farnham Road, Crondall.

Our Assistant Highways Engineer has advised a works job has been raised for this issue and it is currently with our contractors for scheduling, but we are unable to give a specific date that these works will take place, however it will be completed as soon as resources are available and is due before the end of October.

I hope this email has clarified the situation for you."

  • This urgently needs an infill, even if temporary. This is a serious safety issue, neglected for months & by the looks of update from HCC, could be left for months yet. Quite incredible.

  • Not properly fixed, just temporarily patched. Why has this taken almost a year to do? The damage this will have caused to so many vehicles shows utter negligence.
