Ruts developing in speed tables at pedestrian crossings

Reported in the Roads/highways category by Danfox Davies at 13:16, Fri 13 March 2015

Sent to Southampton City Council 4 minutes later

Please keep an eye on the speed table pedestrian crossings across University Road at the University of Southampton. All three of them are developing ruts due to the very frequent buses using the road, and this is placing vehicles at risk of scraping bumpers and exhausts on the non-sunken sections of the speed tables between the ruts. I saw a double decker barely clear its engine overhang of the speed table earlier today when it bounced down off the speed table. Bear in mind these buses are often full to capacity with students and so riding low and heavy on their suspension.
