Illegal parking on kerbs. Street is not wide enough for vehicles to pass each other

Reported via mobile in the Car parking category anonymously at 02:20, Fri 31 May 2024

Sent to Hull City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6042335.

This issue has been going on for a few years now and it's becoming to a point where its going to cause an accident or damage to vehicles. The houses in this area belong to Together Housing Association. I have spoke to them in the past about the issues with parking and how narrow the street is, the response I got was to politely speak to the people who are doing it and ask them not to park there. It's rather difficult to do that when it's different cars that are parking there and I simply cannot monitor it and be on the look out who is doing it. I think the best solution to this problem is to have road markings clearly stating no parking or double yellows to alert people not to park there when there is sufficient parking spaces nearby to use. Myself who lives at number 8 Highgate Close and the other residents at number 4 and 6 have driveways. When we are maneuvering or reversing on/off our drives we are having to be extra cautious without causing damage when cars are parked opposite, because the street is not wide enough. Cars should not be parking on kerbs either and blocking the paths that is restricting the public from using, especially for those with prams or in wheel chairs.
