Potholes preventing access by disabled people in mobility scooters

Reported via desktop in the Park Repairs category by Jennie Randall at 10:07, Tuesday 28 May 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6027782.

A disabled lady who uses a mobility scooter has contacted me (because I am a Friend of Jubilee Country Park) to complain that there are now so many potholes both on the approach to, and in, Blackbrook Lane car park that she can no longer safely access the park through Blackbrook Lane car park in case her mobility scooter tips over. This is clearly not acceptable. People have been complaining about the state of this car park & access road for years and it is getting progressively worse. It needs to be resurfaced with the appropriate material properly.

  • I have spoken to the disabled lady who reported this issue to me. She has had a look at the site now and is very unhappy. It is still inaccessible for her to attempt in a wheelchair as she is concerned that all the undulations in the surface are exactly the same as they were before and she can't risk her wheelchair tipping over. I've looked at it too and entirely agree with her. The whole car park (but especially the approach to it as you drive off Blackbrook Lane) needs resurfacing. The disabled lady is now going to esculate her complaint by taking it to her local Councillor.
