Pathways overgrown and impassable in wheelchair

Reported via Android in the Verges category anonymously at 09:19, Mon 27 May 2024

Sent to Hampshire County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6023922.

No maintenance for years. Now dangerously overgrown hedges at head height all the way down Gosport lane making wheelchair access impossible in some parts. Verges overgrown on the majority of the path making a decent path at least half the original width. Bushes need to be cut back to expose the path and the overhanging bushes need to be sorted. The overgrown verges need to be removed to expose the pathway.

  • Well thank you for the update. Whose responsibility is it then? I'm fed up of overgrown bushes hitting me in the face and a pathway I cannot safely get a wheelchair through. Who's responsible for the upkeep of the public paths then?

  • Now we have to dodge the overhanging brambles. These are going to be lethal in the dark!
