Footpath impassable, forcing unsafe road crossing.

Reported via mobile in the Pavement Defect category anonymously at 11:43, Saturday 25 May 2024

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6019211.

At the exit from the Village Hall on Church Lane right up to Walnut Tree Close the footpath Is impassable due to high hedging and low ground vegetation (possibly from a grass verge) overgrown onto the footpath making it necessary to cross the road at this point. The high vegetation obscures any sight lines to see oncoming traffic and cross safely at this point.

  • This report has been referred to our Traffic Management Team who are responsible for the way traffic is managed on Bromley's roads; including, but not limited to, implementing new road markings and signage in relation to road safety and parking; walking and cycling improvements, including identifying locations for new cycle racks and installing Vehicle Activated speed signs - however, please note that responsibility for enforcing speed limits rests with the Police.

Where requests are made for changes, our Traffic Management Team will consider all requests but often there is a need for a full investigation, planning and consultation within the local area particularly around proposed new traffic schemes, and any considerations must be balanced with borough-wide priorities. This report is now closed on FixMyStreet and our Traffic Management Team will consider this matter.

  • Thank you for your report.

Having looked into this enquiry further the footpath stops at this location and the hedges you are referring to is the properties boundary which meets with LBB's boundary. There is no public footpath at this location.
