Sent to Aberdeenshire Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 601250.
There is not adequate main road crossing facilities on the higher parts of Westhill Drive, on school mornings and evenings a high number of children from Hillside, Medowlands and surrounding areas have to cross this busy main road when walking to the secondary school, this is a safety issue and high risk due to the volume of traffic. This busy main road is a heavily used route link into Westhill and its ever growing business developments, there needs to be a pedestrian crossing installed on the top area of Westhill Drive to enable safe road crossing for the high volume of secondary school children trying to get to school safely. The council have a duty of care to ensure adequate crossing facilities are available to support this volume of school children needing to cross Hillside Drive enabling safe passage to school. All members of the community will also find it safer to cross this busy road. Previously reported but no response for the council, thus raising again and adding supporting photograph.
