Oak tree planted v close to 12 poplar avenue

My house is 12 poplar avenue. the oak tree close to my house [2 metres] was planted by bromley council approx 8 years ago, a bromley council building works since reported to me it was too close to 12 poplar avenue. i would like it pruned in order for tree not to effect my house /foundations.
