Safety bollard broken off at ground level.
Reported via mobile anonymously at 14:39, Saturday 18 May 2024
Sent to Luton Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5990198.
The bollard in question is part of the safety features put in place after many incidents at or near the junction of Toddington Road and Montague Avenue. It appears to have been broken or cut off at ground level to gain access to unofficial off-road parking where no drop curb is installed. The bollard needs to be replaced as part of the safety feature and its presence reinforced with reminders to local residents, possibly something stronger if it is removed in future.

Yet another bollard broken off! Closest one you can see in the picture has been snapped off and is laying in the grass verge outside number 108. Looks like it's been done to gain access to the front garden/hard standing for a car, yet no drop kerb exists and these bollards were installed for safety reasons. They are there along with double yellow lines to prevent parking on the junction which, in the past, has caused accidents due to obstructions and impaired visibility along the main road.
