Playground equipment closed

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5984901.

Playground equipment within Oaklands playground has been closed for nearly 12 months with no repairs taking place. There is damage to the flooring but no other visible damage. The closure is encouraging anti social behaviour as the teenagers see it as a challenge to try and gain entry to the fenced off area.

  • No action has been taken to make any repairs, it has now been nearly a full school year that the children have missed out playing on this equipment as it is located within their playground.

  • There is currently a borough wide costing project being undertaken which involves potential works to a wide variety of play items and safety surfacing - including this/these items specifically. We expect to be able to update soon on our plans

  • There is currently a borough wide costing project being undertaken which involves a variety of Parks Infrastructure and playgrounds, including this/these items specifically. Any required works will be subject to the priorities across the Bromley Estate. This report is now closed on FixMyStreet but will remain on our list of requested tasks to be monitored. We are not able to give precise timeframes to individual jobs at this moment but are continuing to undertake regular safety inspections and check any reported issues. Thank you for your patience.
